Prayer Team Resources:

Our role as Prayer Ministry Team is to stand with people to bring the concerns of individuals before the Lord and discern the activity of the Holy Spirit during the prayer.  We are not counselors, nor do we give advice.  Sometimes, however, those individuals may ask for resources—especially for difficult circumstances.  These resources are to empower prayer team members to meet that need in the moment, and individuals to take steps necessary for their physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.  These organizations are not connected with Desert Vineyard Church and we encourage individuals to use their own best judgement when seeking care from these or other community resources.
DOMESTIC ABUSE

National Hotline: Individuals in abusive situations (abusers too) can get help calling 1.800.799.SAFE (7233), texting “START” to 88788, or online at thehotline.org with resources and someone trained to talk with you over text or call.  Resources include how to develop a plan, seeking shelter, assisting a friend, and even identifying potential abuse.

Valley Oasis: Local organization with shelter and other services for individuals and families seeking to remove themselves from abusive situations.  Find them at www.valleyoasis.org or by calling 661-945-6736.  There are additional resources available for those not sheltered at Valley Oasis, including a therapeutic children’s program for ages 2-17.

Haven Hills: An additional resource in our region found at https://havenhills.org or via their own crisis hotline at 818-887-6589.  They have locations in the San Fernando Valley with 45-day shelter and 18-month temporary housing.
PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING

Saga Center: https://www.sagacenter.org/findatherapist  661-513-4770
This is a fairly new faith-based group that provides resources for pastors and churches as well as a directory of Christian therapists. They are based in the Santa Clarita area.

Associated Christian Therapy Services: https://christiantherapy.net/index  (661) 940-4861
This is one of the oldest Christian Therapy practices in the AV. The staff has historically included Desert Vineyard members/friends, though current staff may or may not have any connections to Desert Vineyard.

Alba Wellness Group: https://albawellnessgroup.com/
This is not a Christian organization, but has an ethic for providing excellent care at affordable prices. They take lots of insurance, including Medicare, and also offer payment on a Sliding Scale starting at $75 session. There is a local office, but they also offer telehealth appointments.
